Use a Towel to Steady Your Cutting Board

Yes.. Yes.. It seems simple, but honestly it was one of the first things I learned and truly the one that pays off the most. Simply take a kitchen towel and dampen with some water, lay it flat on the countertop and place your cutting board on top. The board will not move at all. If it does, then just keep adding a little more water until it doesn’t move anymore. There is a delicate balance between a damp kitchen towel and a wet one, so don’t go over the top! What I really like about this technique is that once you are finished, you already have a kitchen towel ready for cleanup. It really does help to keep your kitchen clean.
