Update: Culinary Journey with a Purpose

Update: Culinary Journey with a Purpose

I first met my friend Chef Bob Rosbaugh through the Knights of Columbus (KOC) council 14129 here in Richmond, Virginia. It was not long after we met that we found ourselves volunteering in the kitchen for charity events. We have worked side by side for almost 10 years at these events. Bob and I attended the same culinary school, and we both managed a volunteer culinary team and countless other things together. So to say the least, I am very proud to call him a friend and a colleague.

Bob sent me a note the other day informing me and few other friends that his brother Scott had fallen ill with pancreatic cancer. We later found out that he is in stage 4. Bob rushed back to be at his families’ aid in Pennsylvania. Bob asked me to send a note out to get ideas for an oncology diet because he decided to stay there and cook for Scott and the family, knowing that a proper diet for everyone will help the family through this ordeal. They now have Scott home and he is doing surprisingly well for the situation he is facing. I am writing this article so that people can post comments of encouragement to Bob, Scott and the Rosbaugh family. Bob is planning the diet, making food and taking care of any other families’ needs. Unfortunately, this is not the first time Bob has taken this journey because he lost his sister Kim last September.

So I was sitting around today and it dawned on me, that Bob, Scott and the family might need some encouragement as well as oncology diet ideas.

Feel free to write Bob a word of encouragement or any oncology diet information in the comments below. Bob, we are all thinking about you during this journey.

Update: I am very sad to report that LaRue Scott Rosbaugh passed away yesterday 7/23/2020 at 4:30pm peacefully with his family around him. My heart goes out to the Rosbaugh family. The loss of two siblings within a year is devastating. Please keep them in your thoughts. Scott’s Tribute
